This vintage book from 1922 has been digitally converted to downloadable format with original illustrations. A great classic for the home or classroom, an interesting old-fashioned reference book, and an outstanding find.

The text differs to other tourist guides in that it is more a narrative of the landscapes and historical highlights of the Southern Queensland coast. The guide promotes train travel as a preferred method to see the sights, however offers no accommodation or transport information; but ample photographic content and poetic description of South East Queensland.
This simple and easy-to-read guide will show you why road trips are so much fun and why they create the most memorable experience for your family, as well as give you all the necessary knowledge and how-tos to plan your own amazing adventure.
Robyn and her husband, Victor, along with their five children (ages 5-17) have become expert road trippers. After years of shorter road trips around the U.S., they moved into their RV and started taking longer trips around the Western U.S. and recently finished a six-month road trip through Western Europe. Robyn shares her stories from the road, what to expect, and why road trips are so fun. Robyn gives you the confidence to tackle your own road trip with your kids and helps lessen the fear and intimidation that new experiences can bring.

"I wrote this book so that you can experience the
best of both worlds. The crazy people who throw caution to the
wind, sell all their belongings, and disappear from society don’t
need my help nor is this book intended to create that. I wanted
to help my family and friends, most of whom are completely sane
and lead normal lives filled with careers, soccer practices, and hot
showers, but who see what we do and want a little taste of the
adventure." -Robyn

Fortunately for the nerve-shaken, over-civilized people of then and now, President Woodrow Wilson created the National Parks Service (NPS) on August 25, 1916, though the drive to protect some of America's most remarkable wild spaces, to be 'used and preserved for the benefit of mankind', began in the 1860s.

From Acadia to Zion, this beautiful introduction to America's preserved natural treasures is packed with landscape photography, original wildlife illustrations, and practical information.
